3600 (3/4) ton, Engine: matching 216.5 Thriftmaster 61,500 miles. Original Mariner blue paint on cab..
I'm the second owner and purchased from a friend of my father in 1991. The gentleman lived in Gilman, Iowa and used Ol'Blue to haul materials from the lumber yard a few blocks away to his cabinet shop. He also delivered the custom cabinets with it locally.
After hearing of his passing, I visited his widow and she lovingly backed it out of their single stall garage with oak wood floors.(very dry) Always garaged, Ol'Blu (as she called him) had original everything and 60,000 miles on the engine.. no rust just a few rock chips and minor dings.
OlBlu has become part of our family and remained in fairly original condition until recently. The wheels were split rim 15 inch with 8 lugs. As shown in the photo I had updated to radials for cruising, and would throw on the splits and baby moons with (1960 era) US Royal tires for showing.
I switched out the rear end to a 1955 Chevy Hotchkiss 3.55:1 with new self adjusting drums. It now runs easily at 70 MPH with the 4 speed.
I've also converted to 5 lug and running (68 Camaro) rally's with disc brakes in front on a 1/2 ton axle and modern dual master cylinder. Removing a couple of leaf springs in rear and running P235s and 215s in the front give the truck a nice lowered stance and a decent ride.
Old Blue has been "all original" for 59 years, but now Its time to drive and enjoy the ride

Please check in now and again and we will share the progress.
